Regional animal shelter impact

Each year OpSPOT compiles statistics for our focus area as reported by the Missouri Department of Agriculture. These statistics are reported to the Department of Agriculture by the animal care facilities. OpSPOT acknowledges the challenges many shelters face, including receiving severely injured, end-of-life animals or animals unsafe to adopt. Showcasing these statistics is in no way meant to blame shelters for the necessary euthanasia that can be warranted. These statistics are meant to show the overall progress of our region and the impact of our mission.

OpSPOT’s focus area: Crawford, Franklin, Jefferson, St. Charles, and St. Louis Counties, and St. Louis City. These figures are reported by the individual agencies on their licensing applications. Agencies: shelters, impoundment facilities, contract kennels and rescue groups.
